I love fried foods. Who doesn’t? I long for that crunch when I take that first bite into a fried chicken leg. Love the crispiness on the outside but moist and juicy on the inside when you fry, well, just about anything. A lot of foods that I love just plain old taste better when they are fried; chicken, shrimp, fish, donuts, and, my favorite, french fries.
However, I wanted a more healthy way to enjoy my favorite foods instead of frying them in a lot of oil. Plus, I don’t like the big mess frying in oil makes. There is a lot of clean up of splatters, spills, and soaking up the excess. And, the added how long can I go recycling the same old oil.
But now my search is over. I have been using the Philips Avance XL Digital Airfryer whenever I want fried food. Which is often. Okay, it’s a lot. Now is the time for my little old disclaimer again; I am not a Philips representative and therefore this review is my opinion only. I am not paid for this review and have no other vested interest other than sharing what I think of this incredible machine.
The Philips Avance Digital Airfryer is, in my opinion, one of the best small appliances on the market. It is a high quality machine, which comes in two sizes. I bought the XL version, as I usually like to have a bigger appliance because of entertaining. This air fryer uses little to no oil in frying and yet keeps the flavor and texture I want in a fried food. The air fryer also cooks the food quickly so you have more time to spend with family and guests.
The Philips Avance XL Digital Airfryer comes with a quick start sheet, a manual, and a recipe booklet with recipes and helpful hints on how to best use the airfryer. I tend to use the recipe booklet in helping me to adjust my times in my own recipes; and have found that they are pretty on the ball when it comes to the timing issues.
It is a little pricier than other ones on the market. However, it does have good reviews. It is one of the larger machines so if you have little counter space, it will take up what you have left.
I have made anything from my Japanese fried chicken wings to even making donuts in the air fryer. The fried chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The donuts came out perfectly plump so that I could fill them with my favorite fillings. I make french fries that turn out to be a crispy golden brown, and yet the inside is nice and soft.
Now I am making myself hungry. As a matter of fact, I think I will make tempura prawns tonight. John will be so happy.
If you are in the market for a more healthy way to fry, I recommend the Philips Advance Digital Airfryer. I doubt you will be disappointed.
Until next time, happy creating.
