This easy, 5-minute cranberry prosecco punch is the perfect New Year’s Eve cocktail. Made with simple ingredients like prosecco, cranberry juice, and orange juice, it’s a crowd-pleasing, budget-friendly drink that tastes like a celebration without the stress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) prosecco, chilled
  • 2 cups (480 ml) unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) orange juice, freshly squeezed if possible
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup, optional
  • 1 cup (about 150 g) frozen cranberries
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced into rounds
  • Optional: 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or triple sec

Instructions

  1. Chill everything: About an hour before you plan to serve, put the prosecco, cranberry juice, and orange juice in the fridge.
  2. Slice the orange: Using a sharp knife, cut the orange into thin rounds, about 1/4-inch thick. Set aside a few slices for garnish, and cut the rest into half-moons if you want them to fit better in the pitcher.
  3. Add the frozen cranberries to the pitcher: Drop them in first. They’ll act as a natural ice cube and keep everything cold.
  4. Pour in the cranberry juice: Measure out 2 cups and pour it over the cranberries. Give it a gentle stir with your spoon. Let it sit for about 5 minutes so the cranberries start to soften and release a little color.
  5. Add the orange juice: Pour in 1 cup of orange juice. If you’re using fresh-squeezed, strain out any pulp first unless you like a little texture. Stir gently to combine with the cranberry juice.
  6. Add the simple syrup (if using): If you want a sweeter punch, stir in 1/4 cup of simple syrup now. Taste it first—you might find it’s sweet enough without it.
  7. Add the orange slices: Drop in the orange rounds. I like to save a few for the top of the pitcher so it looks pretty.
  8. Pour in the prosecco: Open the prosecco slowly to avoid a geyser. Then pour it gently down the side of the pitcher to preserve the bubbles.
  9. Stir very gently: Use a long spoon to give the punch a gentle stir—just two or three turns. Over-stirring will knock the carbonation out.
  10. Add ice if needed: If you’re serving immediately, you can add a few ice cubes. But honestly, the frozen cranberries do a great job keeping things cold.
  11. Garnish and serve: Add a few extra frozen cranberries to the top of the pitcher or float an orange slice on each glass. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t premix the prosecco with the juice more than 30 minutes ahead of time. The bubbles will fade. Instead, keep the juice mixture in the fridge and add the prosecco right before serving. For a self-serve station, set up the juice mixture in a pitcher and the prosecco on ice nearby so guests can pour their own.
