This Classic Fantasy Fudge with Marshmallow Fluff is a quick and easy 5-minute recipe that yields rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet fudge. Made with simple pantry ingredients, it’s perfect for holiday parties, gifting, or a quick dessert fix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (600g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) evaporated milk
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7 oz / 200g) marshmallow fluff
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (120g) chopped nuts (optional, e.g., walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on two sides. Lightly grease the paper with butter or non-stick spray. Set aside.
  2. In a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine 3 cups granulated sugar, 3/4 cup unsalted butter, and 2/3 cup evaporated milk. Place over medium heat and stir constantly until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a full rolling boil. Boil for exactly 5 minutes, stirring constantly. The mixture will thicken slightly and turn a pale golden color. If using a candy thermometer, it should read 234°F (112°C).
  4. Remove the pan from heat immediately. Quickly stir in 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips and the entire jar of marshmallow fluff. Stir vigorously until melted and smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon salt. If using nuts, fold them in now.
  6. Immediately pour the fudge into the prepared pan. Use a spatula to spread evenly. Let it cool at room temperature for about 2 hours, or until firm.
  7. Once set, lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang and cut into squares.

Notes

For best texture, let the fudge set at room temperature rather than refrigerating. If the fudge turns out grainy, it was likely boiled too long or not stirred enough. If too soft, it wasn’t boiled long enough. The fudge tastes even better the next day after flavors meld.
