A quick and creamy peanut butter smoothie bowl made with frozen bananas and simple pantry staples, perfect for a cozy morning breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large frozen bananas (peeled and sliced before freezing)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter (for drizzling)
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut (unsweetened)
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare your bananas: Peel and slice 2 large ripe bananas into coins about 1/2-inch thick. Place in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Add ingredients to blender: Add frozen banana slices, peanut butter, milk, honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the blender.
  3. Blend on low: Start blending on low speed to break up the bananas, then gradually increase to high. Blend for about 30 seconds.
  4. Scrape down the sides: Stop the blender and use a spatula to scrape down the sides.
  5. Blend again: Continue blending on high for another 30-45 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. If too thick, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add more frozen banana slices.
  6. Taste and adjust: Adjust sweetness or peanut butter flavor to your liking.
  7. Transfer to a bowl: Scoop the smoothie mixture into a serving bowl and spread evenly with the back of a spoon.
  8. Add your toppings: Drizzle extra peanut butter on top, then sprinkle with granola, chia seeds, fresh berries, shredded coconut, and dark chocolate chips.
  9. Serve immediately: Enjoy while thick and cold.

Notes

Use spotty ripe bananas for best sweetness and creaminess. Do not over-blend to keep the bowl thick. Add liquid gradually. For a thicker bowl, let the blended mixture sit in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before serving.
