Quick and easy mummy hot dogs made with crescent roll dough and ketchup eyes, perfect for Halloween or a fun weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-size hot dogs
  • 1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough
  • Ketchup (for the eyes)
  • Optional: Mustard or BBQ sauce
  • Optional: Melted butter and garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 thin strips (about 1/2 inch wide).
  3. Place a hot dog on a work surface. Starting at the top, wrap a dough strip around the hot dog, leaving about 1 inch exposed for the face. Overlap slightly as you wrap down to the bottom, leaving the very bottom exposed for feet. Use about 3 strips per hot dog.
  4. Place wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  5. Dip a toothpick into ketchup and dot two small eyes onto the exposed part of each hot dog.
  6. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Keep crescent roll dough cold for easier handling. Use a toothpick for precise ketchup eyes. For a golden finish, brush with melted butter and garlic salt before baking.
