These adorable mummy-wrapped cocktail sausages with mustard eyes are a quick and easy party snack that’s perfect for Halloween, game day, or any fun gathering. Made with just three main ingredients, they come together in under 25 minutes and are sure to bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14-16 ounces) cocktail sausages (e.g., Lit’l Smokies)
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent dough, unroll it, and separate along the perforated lines into 8 triangles.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 or 4 strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Take one cocktail sausage and wrap a strip of dough around it, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Do not wrap too tightly; overlap strips slightly and tuck the end under the sausage. Repeat with all sausages.
  5. Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the tops of each mummy gently with the egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed, and the sausages are heated through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes.
  9. Dip the tip of a toothpick into the yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto the exposed sausage at the top of each mummy.
  10. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For best results, leave about half an inch of sausage exposed at the top for the eyes. Use a toothpick for precise mustard dots. If making ahead, prep up to step 6 and refrigerate for up to 4 hours; add a couple of minutes to baking time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes. These also freeze well: bake, cool, freeze on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Reheat from frozen at 350°F for 8-10 minutes and add fresh mustard eyes after reheating.
