A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip with a fun Halloween spiderweb design. Perfect for parties, this easy recipe combines shredded chicken, cream cheese, and buffalo sauce for an addictive appetizer that’s always the first to disappear.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (12.5 oz each) chunk chicken breast, drained
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream or cream cheese (for web)
  • 12 black olives, sliced (for spider)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Soften cream cheese to room temperature.
  2. Drain canned chicken and shred finely with two forks in a large bowl.
  3. Add softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, sour cream, buffalo wing sauce, and ranch seasoning to the chicken. Mix with a hand mixer or spoon until smooth and well-blended.
  4. Fold in 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese and blue cheese (if using) until evenly distributed.
  5. Spoon mixture into a greased 9-inch pie dish or shallow baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  7. Remove from oven. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese evenly over top, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Place 1 tablespoon sour cream or softened cream cheese in a piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off. Pipe 4-5 concentric circles starting from the center of the dip.
  9. Using a toothpick or skewer, gently drag from the center outward through all circles to the edge, creating 8 evenly spaced spokes. Wipe toothpick clean between each drag.
  10. Return to oven and bake 5-7 more minutes until cheese is melted and web is set.
  11. Place 2 olive slices in the center for the spider’s body and thin olive strips for legs (4 on each side). Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t skip softening the cream cheese for a silky texture. Shred chicken finely so it blends into the dip. Watch baking time to avoid overbaking. Draw the web while the dip is hot for clean lines. Can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance (add 5-10 minutes to first bake time if starting cold).
