A festive and healthy Halloween fruit tray arranged to look like candy corn, served with a creamy vanilla yogurt dip. Ready in just 15 minutes, this simple yet impressive snack is perfect for parties and school events.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium pineapple, peeled and cut into triangles
  • 45 clementines or mandarin oranges, peeled and separated into segments
  • 2 cups green grapes, washed and dried
  • 1 large orange, sliced into half-moons (optional)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • Squeeze of lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Pineapple (5 minutes): Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple. Stand it upright and slice off the skin in strips, following the curve of the fruit. Cut out any remaining brown eyes with the tip of your knife. Slice the pineapple into rounds, then cut each round into triangles. You want them to be about 1-inch wide at the base and tapering to a point. Set these aside.
  2. Prep the Clementines (3 minutes): Peel the clementines and separate them into individual segments. Try to keep them intact—broken segments are fine for snacking, but whole ones look nicer on the tray. If you’re using mandarin oranges from a can, drain them well and pat them dry.
  3. Prep the Grapes (2 minutes): Rinse the grapes under cold water and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Any moisture on the grapes will make the tray look wet and unappetizing. Leave the stems on if you want, or pull them off—it’s up to you.
  4. Make the Yogurt Dip (2 minutes): In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth. Taste it and adjust the sweetness—I like mine on the tangier side, but my kids prefer it sweeter. Add a pinch of cinnamon or a squeeze of lemon if you want to fancy it up.
  5. Arrange the Candy Corn Shape (5 minutes): On your serving platter, start at the top and create a wide triangle shape. The pointed end should be at the top. Layer your fruit in rows, working from top to bottom: Top row (white): Arrange the clementine segments or mandarin oranges in a small triangle at the very top. Middle row (orange): Place the pineapple triangles in a wider row below the clementines. Overlap them slightly to create a solid orange band. Bottom row (yellow): Fill the rest of the …
  6. Fill in the Gaps (2 minutes): If you have any empty spaces, fill them with extra fruit. You can also add orange slices around the edges for decoration. Don’t stress about perfection—fruit is forgiving and a little messiness looks natural.
  7. Add the Dip (1 minute): Place the bowl of yogurt dip at the bottom of the tray or off to the side. You can also put it in the center of the tray if you have a small bowl that fits. Just make sure it doesn’t cover up your candy corn shape.
  8. Serve Immediately or Refrigerate: This tray is best served within an hour of making it. If you need to make it ahead, keep the dip separate and add it right before serving. The fruit can be prepped and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Notes

Dry fruit thoroughly to prevent soggy tray. Fresh pineapple is essential—avoid frozen. Use a white platter to make colors pop. Make extra yogurt dip as it goes fast. For best results, serve within an hour of assembly. Leftover fruit and dip should be stored separately.
