These no-bake Oreo truffle balls are a quick and easy Christmas treat made with just five ingredients. They’re creamy, rich, and perfect for cookie exchanges or holiday gift boxes.

Ingredients

  • Oreo Cookies (14.3 oz / 405g package)
  • Cream Cheese (8 oz / 226g), softened
  • Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
  • White Chocolate Melting Wafers (12 oz / 340g)
  • Christmas Sprinkles (about 1/4 cup / 45g)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos (filling and all) into your food processor. Pulse until you have fine crumbs that look like dark sand. If using the bag method, put the cookies in a zip-top bag, seal it, and crush with a rolling pin until no large chunks remain.
  2. Mix the base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract. Use your hand mixer on low speed (or a wooden spoon) until everything comes together into a thick, fudgy dough. It should look like a dark, uniform paste with no streaks of white cream cheese. If it feels too dry, add another tablespoon of cream cheese. If it’s too sticky, add a few more crushed Oreos.
  3. Chill the dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This step is non-negotiable—chilled dough is much easier to roll into balls. You can chill it for up to 24 hours if you want to prep ahead.
  4. Roll into balls: Once the dough is firm, use your cookie scoop or a tablespoon to portion out the dough. Roll each portion between your palms into a smooth ball, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. Place each ball on the parchment-lined baking sheet. You should get about 24 truffles. If the dough starts to get sticky as you work, pop the baking sheet back in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  5. Freeze the balls: Place the baking sheet with the rolled truffle balls in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. This firms them up even more, which makes dipping much cleaner. They should be firm to the touch but not rock-hard.
  6. Melt the white chocolate: While the truffle balls are freezing, melt your white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat—white chocolate burns easily and turns grainy. If it’s too thick for dipping, stir in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening to thin it out.
  7. Dip the truffles: Remove the truffle balls from the freezer. Working one at a time, drop a truffle into the melted white chocolate. Use a fork to gently roll it around until fully coated. Lift it out with the fork, tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to let excess chocolate drip off, and place it back on the parchment-lined sheet. Work quickly—the cold truffles will help the chocolate set fast. If the chocolate starts to thicken, reheat it for 15 seconds in the microwave.
  8. Add sprinkles: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your Christmas sprinkles over the top of each truffle. Do this immediately after dipping—once the chocolate sets, the sprinkles won’t stick.
  9. Set and serve: Let the truffles sit at room temperature until the chocolate is completely set, about 30 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, you can pop them in the fridge for 10 minutes. Once set, they’re ready to serve or store.

Notes

Chill the dough before rolling and freeze the balls before dipping for best results. Use a deep bowl for dipping to make it easier. Work in small batches to keep the truffles cold. If the chocolate cracks, dip again quickly for a double coat.
