A quick, healthy Halloween snack featuring ghost-shaped fruit and a creamy yogurt dip. Perfect for busy weeknights and festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • 2 bananas (firm but not green)
  • 1 apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 1 cup strawberries or raspberries (optional)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (Fage or Chobani recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (pure)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Edible eyes (optional)
  • Pomegranate seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the yogurt dip: In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a tiny pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Prep the pears: Wash and halve pears lengthwise. Scoop out core and seeds. Slice crosswise into ¼-inch thick rounds. Use a ghost-shaped cookie cutter or paring knife to cut ghost shapes from each slice.
  3. Slice the bananas: Peel and slice into ¼-inch thick rounds. Use two slices for eyes and one for the mouth on each ghost.
  4. Prep the apple: Wash, quarter, and core the apple. Slice into thin wedges. Optionally, use the same cookie cutter to make apple ghosts.
  5. Wash the grapes: Rinse and pat dry. Halve a few so they lay flat.
  6. Assemble the ghosts: Place a pear ghost slice on the platter. Add two banana slices for eyes and one for a mouth. Press edible eyes onto banana slices if using. Repeat with remaining pear ghosts.
  7. Arrange the platter: Place the yogurt dip bowl in the center. Arrange ghost shapes around it. Fill gaps with apple wedges, banana slices, and grapes. Sprinkle pomegranate seeds and extra edible eyes for a spooky effect.
  8. Serve immediately or chill for up to 30 minutes. Best served cold.

Notes

For dairy-free, use thick coconut yogurt. For low-sugar, skip honey or use stevia. To prevent browning, toss apple and pear slices in lemon juice. The dip can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 3-4 days.
