A creamy, indulgent dip that tastes exactly like the center of a Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake, made with cream cheese, butter, and crushed festive cakes. Perfect for holiday parties and ready in just 10 minutes of active time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream (optional, for consistency)
  • For garnish: extra crushed Christmas Tree Cakes, red and green sprinkles, festive pretzels (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese and butter: Take your cream cheese and butter out of the refrigerator about 30-40 minutes before you start. Cut them into cubes to speed up the softening process. They should be soft to the touch but not melted.
  2. Crush the Christmas Tree Cakes: While your cream cheese softens, open the box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. Take 6 cakes and place them in a large Ziploc bag. Seal the bag, squeezing out as much air as possible. Use a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy pan to crush the cakes into small crumbs. You want a mix of fine crumbs and slightly larger pieces for texture. Set the bag aside.
  3. Beat the cream cheese and butter: In your large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and softened butter. Beat with your hand mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl with your spatula halfway through.
  4. Add the powdered sugar: With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time. Once all the sugar is incorporated, increase the speed to medium and beat for another 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Scrape down the bowl again.
  5. Add vanilla and salt: Pour in the vanilla extract and add the salt. Beat on medium speed for 30 seconds until everything is well combined.
  6. Fold in the crushed cakes: Open the Ziploc bag of crushed Christmas Tree Cakes. Pour about 3/4 of the crumbs into the cream cheese mixture. Reserve the remaining 1/4 for garnish. Use your spatula to fold the crumbs in gently until they’re evenly distributed. Don’t overmix.
  7. Check the consistency: The dip should be thick but scoopable. If it seems too thick, add milk or heavy cream one tablespoon at a time, mixing gently after each addition.
  8. Chill the dip: Transfer the dip to your serving bowl or platter. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  9. Garnish and serve: Just before serving, sprinkle the reserved crushed Christmas Tree Cakes over the top. Add extra red and green sprinkles if desired. Arrange your dippers around the bowl and serve cold.

Notes

Temperature is key: use room temperature cream cheese and butter for a smooth dip. Don’t overmix after adding the cakes to keep texture. Chill time is non-negotiable for proper consistency. For make-ahead, prepare the base without crushed cakes and fold them in just before serving. The dip tastes even better after chilling overnight.
