A quick and easy mocktail made with cranberry juice, fresh ginger, and club soda. Perfect for holiday gatherings, this festive drink is loved by both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger root (about 5 cm)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) club soda or sparkling water
  • ¼ cup (about 30 g) fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • 4 small sprigs fresh rosemary (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) honey or simple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Peel the 2-inch piece of fresh ginger using the edge of a spoon. Slice it into thin rounds, about ⅛-inch thick (8-10 slices).
  2. Place the ginger slices in the bottom of a mason jar or sturdy glass. Using a wooden spoon or muddler, press down firmly and twist to crush the ginger until it smells intensely spicy and starts to shred (about 30 seconds).
  3. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of cranberry juice cocktail over the muddled ginger. Stir gently to combine. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes to infuse the ginger flavor.
  4. Taste the cranberry-ginger mixture. If desired, stir in 1-2 teaspoons of honey or simple syrup for extra sweetness.
  5. Fill the glass about ¾ full with ice cubes.
  6. Pour ½ cup (120 ml) of club soda over the ice. Stir once gently to combine.
  7. Garnish with a few fresh cranberries and a rosemary sprig (if using). Serve immediately.

Notes

For a party, multiply the recipe by 8 and muddle all ginger in a large pitcher. Add cranberry juice and refrigerate 2-3 hours. Add club soda and ice just before serving. For a warm winter version, skip the club soda and ice, heat the cranberry-ginger mixture, and serve in mugs with a cinnamon stick.
