This spooky sweet candy eyeball popcorn is a fun and easy Halloween snack that combines salty, crunchy popcorn with sweet white chocolate and chewy candy eyes. It’s perfect for parties, movie nights, or a late-night treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 16 ounces white almond bark or white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional but recommended)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup candy eyeballs
  • 1/4 cup orange and black sprinkles (optional)
  • Edible glitter or luster dust (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn using an air popper or stovetop method. Transfer to a large mixing bowl, remove any unpopped kernels, and let cool completely (about 10 minutes).
  2. Place the white almond bark or melting wafers and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes). Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the melted white chocolate mixture over the popcorn in a slow, steady stream. Gently fold with a spatula until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the coated popcorn in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. While still wet, press candy eyeballs into the popcorn and sprinkle with orange and black sprinkles and edible glitter if using.
  5. If desired, transfer a small amount of reserved melted white chocolate to a piping bag or zip-top bag, snip a corner, and drizzle zigzag patterns over the popcorn.
  6. Refrigerate the baking sheet for 20-30 minutes until the coating is firm. Break into clusters and serve at room temperature.

Notes

Let popcorn sit out for an hour before coating for best results. Avoid butter-flavored microwave popcorn. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Do not refrigerate after setting.
